Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele applauds Governor Scott Walker’s announcement today of a $29 million investment in mental health programs and services.

MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele applauds Governor Scott Walker’s announcement today of a $29 million investment in mental health programs and services.

“More than any other county in the state, Milwaukee County struggles with funding for these critical services. We’ve been working with DHS Secretary Dennis Smith for months on reforming the way Milwaukee County provides these services.  I’m hopeful the Governor’s announcement today will allow us to move forward quickly on making important and long called for changes,” Abele said.

In his two budgets as County Executive Abele has added millions of dollars in funding for mental health redesign efforts.
