County Board Will Continue With Scheduled Meetings Following Courthouse Fire

Public invited to meetings that will take place in alternate locations

(MILWAUKEE) – (July 8, 2013) – Due to County Executive Chris Abele’s order to close the Milwaukee County Courthouse because of an electrical fire on Saturday, the scheduled Wednesday, July 10 meeting of the Milwaukee County Board will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Milwaukee Area Technical College Board Room, Room M210.  That is only if the Courthouse remains closed longer than Tuesday. The address of MATC is 700 W. State Street in Milwaukee.

The Transportation, Public Works and Transit Committee will also meet at 9:00 a.m. July 10 at General Mitchell International Airport in the Sijan-Lovell room if the Courthouse is unavailable. Enter the Sijan-Lovell Room through the “Mitchell Gallery of Flight” in the main concourse of the airport.

The Board will meet in the Courthouse County Board Chambers if the building is open on Wednesday. The Transportation Committee will meet as scheduled in 201-B if the building is open.

The Judiciary, Safety and General Services Committee will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 11. It will also be located in Room M210 at MATC if the Courthouse is unavailable. If the building is open the meeting will be in room 201-B.

The public is invited to all Board and committee meetings at any location. The County Board meeting will be streamed live on the MATC web site.
