Milwaukee, WI – Coalition of Photographic Arts is pleased to present “Picture a Cure,” a 12-hour fine art photography sale benefiting the Wisconsin ALS Association. In conjunction with The Blue, the iconic blue building in downtown Milwaukee, CoPA is offering every print in the current exhibit for the price of $50.

“Picture a Cure” features over 65 pieces of fine art photography by Coalition of Photographic Arts photographers, many of whom have won local, national and international photography awards. Although many pieces are valued in the hundreds of dollars, each print in the exhibit will be available during the 12-hour event for only $50. (All proceeds to go directly to the Wisconsin ALS Association.)

Says Wisconsin ALS Association Executive Director Melanie Roach-Bekos, “We are thrilled to be partnering with CoPA on the Picture A Cure event. It’s a unique opportunity to share a vision of a world without ALS.” Adds CoPA President Pam Ferderbar, “Everybody either knows a person with ALS, or knows a family, friend or coworker who has been effected by this disease. When we think about what we can do to help, what our part might be, using the language of photography just seemed like a perfect fit.”

The Blue has been a supporter of CoPA for many years, hosting the photography organization’s “member show” in its lobby atrium. “It’s a gorgeous environment in which to showcase photography, and a great space for a big reception,” said Ferderbar.

The last three hours of the 12-hour sale will culminate in a “meet the photographers” reception where guests can visit with the artists and representatives of the ALS Association. Photographic prints range in genre from landscape, to abstract, architecture, urban and travel, featuring both color and black and white works.

“We are so grateful for the talented photographers who have shared their time, work and message for Wisconsin ALS patients and their families. Each photograph sold will have an impact in the fight against ALS,” said Roach-Bekos.
