MILWAUKEE, Wis. (May 5, 2017)—The East Town Association is gearing up for the return of its bustling farmers’ market at Cathedral Square Park, beginning June 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The weekly Cathedral Square Market will offer fresh produce, locally made crafts, specialty foods, outdoor yoga, dance workouts, chef demos and live entertainment every Saturday through Oct. 7.

Nearly 50 Wisconsin farmers, craftsmen, artisans, bakers and chefs will be on-site every week offering their freshest fares and specialty products for shoppers to browse and purchase. From veggie options and baked goods to an abundance of take-home meals and even high-quality seafood, there will be plenty of seasonal delights at this year’s market.

For a delicious pick-me-up, first-time vendor Café Sole: A Costa Rican Permaculture Coffee will be brewing various gourmet coffee blends on-site. Brim Café & Catering and Rocket Baby Bakery are also new this year, selling signature pastry items and baked goods. Another vendor is Sitka Salmon Shares—a boat-to-doorstep seafood company that sells sustainably sourced salmon and other fish. Market shoppers with a sweet tooth can visit the Cream City Caramels & Confections booth to sample handcrafted, creamy soft caramels.

In addition to a robust marketplace, both beginner and expert yogis can strengthen their body and mind with free, outdoor yoga sessions from 9 to 10 a.m. on market grounds, courtesy of the Wisconsin Athletic Club (WAC). The WAC will also offer fast-paced Zumba classes for a powerful cardio morning workout beginning at 10:15 a.m. on July 29, Aug. 5 and 26, and Sept. 2, 9, 16 and 23. Children can join the rhythmic fun with “Creative Dance” workshops hosted by Danceworks on June 3, 17 and 24, followed by family hip hop sessions on July 1 and 8.

Plus, Cate’s Kitchen Chef Demonstrations will take place at the market stage from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month, June 3, July 1, Aug. 5 and Sept. 2. Using market-fresh produce purchased right on-site, Cate will demonstrate and share delicious, seasonal recipes to spice up mealtime. Live musical entertainment by local artists will also grace the stage throughout the summertime.

Cathedral Square Market will be closed July 15 during Bastille Days and August 12. For more information, including the weekly entertainment lineup and list of vendors, visit EastTown.com or call 414.271.1416.
