Bronzeville Week events include art, theater, entrepreneurship breakfast, home run derby and softball championship

Bronzeville Week 2016 is underway.

Bronzeville Week 2016 is underway and features a rich array of activities and events through Saturday, August 13.

A look at the schedule today through Wednesday, August 10:

Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs invites the public to the First Stage Children’s Theater production Bronzeville in Retrospect: The People and the Police, 325 N Walnut St. The production takes place tonight (Monday, August 8), starting with a reception at 5 p.m. and the curtain rising at 5:30 p.m.

Tomorrow morning (Tuesday, August 9) will feature the Bronzeville Creative Entrepreneurship Business Breakfast at The Big Eazy, 2053 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr.

The registration, networking and breakfast portion of the event starts at 7:30 a.m., with “Creative Entrepreneurship Stories & Bronzeville Insights/Trends” going from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.

Also on Tuesday, make plans to attend the Bronzeville Week Home Run Derby and Softball Championship, at 7 p.m. at Clinton Rose Park 3045 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr.

Trolley rides offering a comfortable and informative tour of Bronzeville will load passengers at noon and again at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10 with pick-up in front of Gee’s Clippers, 2215 N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr.

“Heal Your Soul Arts Night” will also take place on Wednesday from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. at The Big Eazy, 2053 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. The art night will include works from Heal the Hood Soul Collective.
