Act 16 triggers changes to city licensing process
Therefore, effective May 3, 2015, the City of Milwaukee will no longer accept, process, or issue licenses for the operation of network vehicles or drivers.
On May 1, 2015, Governor Walker signed into law Wisconsin Act 16 which, among other provisions, prohibits local units of government from regulating transit network companies, vehicles, and drivers.
Therefore, effective May 3, 2015, the City of Milwaukee will no longer accept, process, or issue licenses for the operation of network vehicles or drivers.
All regulations pertaining to metered fare taxicab and other public passenger vehicles and their drivers remain unchanged.
