Has the Clock Run Out for the Sydney Hih?

The historic Sydney Hih building, which city officials had intended to tear down, may have been saved for another day, due to a legalistic maneuver by alderman and attorney Bob Baumann at a Tuesday meeting of the Common Council’s Zoning, Neighborhoods & Development Committee.

1. Jazz in the Park, it’s back June 4th and despite the drama, will be just like it has been in years past. River Rhythms starts across the river on June 10th, and Chill on the Hill kicks off June 2nd.



Updated: Edelweiss Leaking Fuel Into Milwaukee River

One of the Edelweiss boats docked along the Riverwalk adjacent to the Highland Avenue pedestrian bridge appears to have begun leaking fuel into the Milwaukee River. The Milwaukee Fire Department is on the scene to assess the situation, and presumably will be acting shortly.

Urban Milwaukee has obtained exclusive photos of the incident from an anonymous source.



Could Robert Ruvin Have Saved RiverSplash?

While it certainly sounds ridiculous, I think it’s a distinct possibility that Robert Ruvin could have prevented most, if not all of the trouble stemming from the Saturday night fiasco at RiverSplash on Old World Third Street and Water Street.
