The Duke Basketball Report, which reports on all things related to one of the nation’s premier college programs, recently discovered our House Confidential on Marquette University basketball coach and former Duke player and associate coach Steven M. Wojciechowski.

The Duke-loving publication, which typically offers such stories as “How ACC Schedules are Shaped in 2014-15,” or “Duke Skins Mules, 87-47,” (love those sports metaphors), was definitely offering readers a change of pace in covering our report on Coach Wojo’s home, written by the ever-droll Michael Horne. It “resembles a restaurant review in some ways,” writer JD King mused in his report to the Duke faithful.

King then notes “Our favorite line of the whole piece: ‘The developer inexplicably lined the streets with Silver Maples (Acer Saccharinum), a rather poor choice, and a tree many prudent landscapers eliminate at first sight.’”

“Maybe they can find something more prudent,” King ripostes.

We’re guessing they’ll stick with the Silver Maples.

King also quoted the “Second best part” of the story, which we’ll let you read in the original.

Our thanks to the “Duke Blue Devils community,” as this publication dubs its readers, who brought us a nice bump in the week’s traffic.

  1. GT says:

    Duke sucks.

  2. Dan says:

    I agree with GT.

  3. Methodist Flats says:

“Duke sucks” in … basketball? Academic reputation? Graduating athletes while abiding by NCAA rules? Wait – football, maybe?

So many ways that Duke falls short as an institution that it’s hard to keep them all straight.
