I knew the federal money was for fixed rail in Milwaukee, but until this story I was unaware that it was only for “downtown Milwaukee fixed rail circulator.” It’s harder to argue with the plan if that’s the only way the money can be used. Of course, there will be those who argue that the federal money should be returned because the operating costs aren’t worth the benefits, but that’s a harder case to make than an alternate rail line (downtown to Miller Park, downtown to airport, 30th street corridor, etc).

    Thanks for the update Jeramey.

“I’m not being disingenuous, I’m being Joe Davis.”

With Mr. Davis and Mr. Donovan, and maybe Sheriff Clarke, the next race for mayor probably won’t be dull.

  3. David says:

I’m worried that any delay will give tald radio the time needed to get into the heads of the Council. Let’s get this done Tuesday.

  4. blurondo says:

Mr. Davis, your concern that none of your constituents has contacted you with an opinion should not trouble you. The people speak loudest when they are in opposition, not when they have tacit approval.
Also, your statement about the train not benefiting your constituents is misplaced. No aldermanic district is an island. What benefits the City, benefits all.

  5. Justin A says:

“Davis went on to rail against the mayor’s claim that millenials support the project, calling them “millenniums” repeatedly and asking if his “black millenniums” matter. ”

Here we go AGAIN with the racial blame game in Milwaukee. What else is new? I’m honestly surprised Davis hasn’t accused NML of neglecting the north side minorities because they are building their new office tower downtown and not in the hood.

  6. David says:

Joe’s concern is he wants to be mayor. So much so that that he would trash an improtant project like the streetcar. Anything that gives him an identity, separates him from Barrett. I promise that Davis will not get my vote. I agree Justin… here we go again. Of course WCD will respond by calling me a racist. Divide and conquer WCD.

Let’s see what a Twin Cities street car expert and historian has to say (not a vested interest ‘project consultant’)
