It’s here, once again: the Milwaukee Film Festival.

If you’re a film buff, it’s the most wonderful time of the year. (Hell, if you’re anyone it’s possibly the most wonderful time of the year.) 15 days of the year set aside for the screening of 240 feature and short films from all over the world. The dedicated people over at Milwaukee Film have been curating and promoting the festival for five years now, and we’ve been covering it here at TCD just as long, so suffice it to say we’re quite excited.

This article is going to be the hub for all our MFF coverage this year, so feel free to bookmark it if you’re into that sort of thing. From here, we’ll be publishing previews for each day of the festival, laying out the films that’ll be having their first screening during the day along with some top picks curated by our staff from this year’s category, including the headlining Spotlight Presentations, Cream City Cinema series, Sound Vision music docs, the curated Cinema Hooligante films and this year’s Passport series, exclusively featuring German cinema. We’ll also be linking to a series of advance stories, compiled by TCD writers, offering spoiler-free reviews to help you make even better picks.

So what are you waiting for? Read on, cinephile. And in the words of the esteemed Roger Ebert: We’ll see you at the movies.

The Milwaukee Film Festival runs Sept. 26 to Oct. 10. Screenings will occur daily at three locations: the Oriental Theatre, 2230 N. Farwell Ave.; the Downer Theatre, 2589 N. Downer Ave.; and Fox-Bay Cinema Grill, 334 E. Silver Spring Dr. Tickets are $10, $9 for students/seniors, $8 for Milwaukee Film members and $6 for children 12 and under (opening, closing and centerpiece film tickets are $20, $17 for members). To order tickets, visit any festival box office, call (414) 727-8468, or visit the online box office.
