Preview of Three Bridges Park

The new Menomonee Valley park opens on Saturday, and our photos offer a sneak peek.

Three Bridges Park, Milwaukee’s latest park, officially opens this Saturday July 20th. The park is located between the 35th and 27th Street viaducts along the southern bank of the Menomonee River in the Menomonee Valley.  The park extends the Hank Aaron State Trail from the Valley Passage east to the Mitchell Park Domes, and a variety of trails lead throughout the park, up to the hilltops and accessibly down to the river.

Although the park has been planted, in many areas the seedlings are still just that, but as they begin to sprout the park’s stretches of brown will bloom into another green amenity for Milwaukee.

At 10 a.m. this Saturday the park will open with a dedication and celebration. For more information about the event click here.

Here’s another preview, with additional pictures and a personal invitation to have your portrait taken to commemorate the event. It’s on my Urban Wilderness blog: http://urbanwilderness-eddee.blogspot.com/2013/07/three-bridges-park-opens-this-saturday.html
