Marsupial Bridge Connection At Mid-Point
Renderings of how the bridge will better connect to pedestrians and photos of ongoing progress.
In February, Michael Horne reported that the Marsupial Bridge to N. Commerce Street pedestrian connection, which will make access to bridge much more convenient, was finally under construction. The long awaited project was designed by La Dallman Architects, the original architect of the Marsupial Bridge, and when complete the connection will make use of an abandoned rail trestle fragment as a portion of the walkway. The project includes creating a new IPE wood deck on the trestle, the addition of steps at both ends of the trestle, benches to sit and enjoy the view, a steel railing with LED lights, planters, and lighting. The photos show the construction getting underway. Renderings of the completed design are also provided below.

I was exploring other material about the marsupial bridge and discovered in this post (http://openarchitecturenetwork.org/projects/urban_plaza) that it’s “media plaza is in Milwaukee, Minnesota! Curious. No?
@Edith That just looks like that website has a little mistake that should be corrected.
Dave:
You’re right.
I did it!
Let’s see if they correct it.
