Great article on a real homegrown Milwaukee original!

  2. Juli Kaufmann says:

Post Script: On behalf of the most important woman in my life, my mother Karen LeSage, allow me to clarify one item. My mother would be first to tell you of her pride in her role as a wife and mother, noting the hard work and commitment required for both. That said, she also is an accomplished professional with a career that includes service as a senior executive for both academic and health care institutions as well as her time as Chief Operating Office for a major real estate development company in Milwaukee. For a story that spun female leadership as its major thread, this point seemed worth making. She is my role model – I love you Mom!

  3. Nancy Ketchman says:

Juli is generous, intelligent, passionate, innovative, and funny…. a true Renaissance Milwaukeean! More Juli’s in Milwaukee and this town would explode off the map. Wonderful article.

  4. Gary Tuma says:

Juli is an inspiration to all of us who work in and love our Walker’ Point neighborhood. The future of urban Milwaukee depends on new thinking and creative approaches to development. We owe Juli much appreciation for getting it done!

Juli has been so much fun to work with. Her idea to bring the first cheese factory to Milwaukee. Her arm-twisting that got me to do it. Her enthusiasm that makes it a joy as well as a challenge. Thanks for including us at Clock Shadow Creamery in your dreams.

I am proud to say that I have relatives who share the interest and involvement in the renovation of the Third Ward. Would that we had more dedicated individuals such as these. Thirty years ago Ryan Sattler and I started the Sherman Park Community Association, I have a plaque on my wall from the Milwaukee Common Council, dated January 24, 1989, signed by Aldermen Thomas Donegan and Donald Richards attesting to that. Unfortunelety we are loosing that battle.
