How long have you lived in Milwaukee and why did you choose to live here?
I’ve lived here for almost 1,200 days.  I’m from Cleveland originally.  Like many, I chose to move here for a girl.

What about Milwaukee makes it a place you want to work and play?
The energy.  This city is glowing with unique people who work and play hard.

What is your favorite Milwaukee event?
The Riverwest 24.

What is one thing you’d like to see change about Milwaukee?
I’d love to see Milwaukee redirect its resources towards its economic and ethnic disparities.

What do you do?
I make [art] do [work].

Note: Hayes’ KickStarter campaign for “matireal, a ‘creational trail” just passed its goal of raising $10,000. The campaign was led by an organization Hayes started called beintween. Hayes is currently pursuing a master’s degree in architecture at UWM.
