Hundreds of rowers from Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois navigated Milwaukee’s rivers for the 12th Annual Milwaukee River Challenge on Saturday.  Spectators could be seen viewing the race from each of downtown’s angled bridges. Beginning at 25th and Canal, racers of four and eight manned and womanned boats traversed the tight bend between the Menomonee and Milwaukee rivers, and weaved through downtown bridge construction toward the finish line at Schlitz Park. The three mile course took the winning team 15:15 minutes and the average boat about 20 minutes. The fastest boat was rowed by a home-t0wn team, Milwaukee Rowing Club, in the open eight man category.
