Special Veterans Day edition: Dry Hootch

By - Nov 11th, 2011 04:00 am

In honor of those who serve in the military, today we continue a series of conversations with veterans who live and work in the Milwaukee area. Click here for Part One with Ted Lasser of VETransfer.

Dry Hootch is a substance-free social place for veterans to reconnect over shared experience with a warm cup of coffee and some friendly company. In addition to providing a welcoming atmosphere for returning veterans, Dry Hootch also hosts various support groups that help address many of the serious issues veterans face once they’ve returned home.

Dry Hootch is conveniently located on Brady Street, and tomorrow, Nov. 12, they are having their 1st annual Warrior Spirit Run/Walk, starting at 9 a.m. at the Milwaukee War Memorial. Registration for the 5K begins at 7 a.m. For more information, click here, or visit dryhootch.org.
