La Moustache Merveilleuse at the Hotel Foster twirls it tightly

By - Jul 31st, 2011 04:00 am

La Moustache MerveilleuseThe Hotel Foster bar saw a packed house for the first event of its kind in a mighty partnership between Stag Barbershop (from Milwaukee’s southern edge of Bay View) and this new entrant on the North Avenue scene (near the heart of Milwaukee’s East Side). Proceeds went to the American Diabetes Association, with sponsoring support and prizes from Great Lakes Distillery, The Brass Rooster, Old Milwaukee, Pabst and Lakefront Brewery.

Men from far and wide were invited to showcase their prized upper lip folicular stylings.  “La Moustache Merveilleuse” — the Marvelous Mustache — certainly lived up to the hype, with a cavalcade of young studs styled by haberdashers from the Brass Rooster to highlight their facial hair.

We sent our photo intern Sarah Weiss into the fray to capture some of the night’s twirling moments.  She returned with the following slideshow.  You can catch all the images at our flickr site as well.
