2011 Fat Tire Tour of Milwaukee

By - Feb 25th, 2011 06:55 am

In keeping with the tradition of Fat Tire Tour of Milwaukee fighting for the little guy, or at least the skinny guy with a lot of makeup, it is honoring Pee Wee and Pee Wee’s Big Adventure for Fat Tire Tour of Milwaukee XXVII. After all it was and still is the greatest cycling movie ever made. It was seminal in the early FTTM years.

FTTM XXVII to Start/Finish at Best Place

If you’re going to start FTTM somewhere, why not pick the best place.  We’ll start and finish at Best Place, at 901 W Juneau. It’s the elegant old Visitor Center for the Pabst Brewery and was our first stop on the 2010 FTTM.

Pee Oui’s Misadventure 2011 promises to be another fabulous fantasy come true, if this year is anything like my previous 3 or 4 years of joyful riding. FTTM offers grand tours of the city – as an out of towner I’d never check the route out anyother way. Last year’s run across I-94 bridge, between Miller Park and the VA Hsopital grounds was a real hoot. Mssr. Oui’s core group – cycling fanatics from far and wide, including Cape Twisco Prime Minister – can be relied upon for the deepest details of Cream City lore . The PM claims to have date back to the 1st FTTM eons ago. Make sure you have a libation in hand before asking the “old-timers” about PeeOui’s initial runs. Expect an exhilerating, ectactic, perhaps exhaustingly fine time.

Is there an actual site that describes how to get involved with the Fat Tire Tour in Milw? I can’t seem to find a place that tells all. Facebook is cute but, no times, locations, contacts.
