Racine Theatre Guild: Don’t Hug Me and Miracle on 34th Street

The Racine Theatre Guild will hold auditions for all roles in the musical comedy Don’t Hug Me on Oct. 16 and 17 by appointment.

Set in Bunyan Bay, Minnesota, the musical follows a bar owner who wants to leave the harsh Minnesota winters for warmer pastures in Florida, his wife who wants to stay, a waitress pursuing her singing career and her fiance who wants her to stay put.  A slick karaoke salesman arrives on the scene and shakes things up.

Those who wish to audition must make an appointment for a specific time slot on Oct. 16 or 17.

The Racine Theatre Guild is also holding open auditions for the Christmas classic Miracle on 34th Street on Oct. 18 and 19. Report to the theater at 7 p.m. – no appointments are necessary. There are many roles for men, women, and children over 10. All roles are open.

The play follows the beloved 1947 film, opening on the day of the Macey’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, when Doris Walker hires Chris Kringle to play Santa, who claims to be the real deal.
