Cows, Curds and Cream Puffs

The Wisconsin State Fair

Living in Milwaukee, we often take for granted the fact that our fair city plays host some of the state’s most popular events; things like Summerfest, games at Miller Park and of course, the Wisconsin State Fair.

Thousands of people come from miles around to partake in the eleven-day festival, to coo over piglet races (while non-ironically munching on Saz’s ribs), bury their faces into sweet, fluffy cream puffs and celebrate Wisconsin’s agricultural heritage (and this year, to see Bret Michaels). Love it or hate it, it’s a sight to behold and once you step foot on the fair grounds, it’s hard to deny the scent of sizzling cheese curds and assorted deep-fried meat products wafting through the crowds.

This year, TCD photo interns Nicole Braunsdorf and Jennifer Bartel, along with Associate News Editor Patti Wenzel took in a few days at the fair and captured all of its summery goodness.

Enjoy!
