Cocktail, anyone?

Mad Men returns on AMC tonight and along with it, an excuse for a smart cocktail.

You could really get into the mood and stick with the traditional Tom Collins (made with gin from Rehorst of course), or you could tart it up a bit with the recipes below, provided by former podcast guests Chad Doll of Bryant’s Cocktail Lounge and Nick Kosevich and Ira Koplowitz, collectively known as Bittercube.

TCD reminds you to enjoy responsibly and use local ingredients where possible.

 

Jersey Girl
Recipe by Chad Doll

1.5 oz. Elijah Craig 12 year bourbon
.75 oz. Carpano Antica
.75 oz. Campari
1 dash Angostura Bitters
1 dash Peychaud’s Bitters

Combine all ingredients into mixing glass. Stir and strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with orange twist.

 

Summer Scene
Recipe by Nick and Ira

1.75 oz. Prairie Organic Vodka
.75 oz. Crème de Flora (can substitute St. Germain)
.75 oz. Lemon Juice
.25 oz. Simple Syrup
1 inch slice of Cucumber
Dash Salt

Muddle Cucumber and salt in a shaker. Shake, Strain through a tea strainer, Garnish with a thin cucumber wheel.
