@Kevin My point about density is it seemed more evenly spread out… Whereas I think if I could graph it Milwaukee might be more of a peak with a sharper decline…. If that makes any sense.

I must admit, Portland is a very nice city. I hope someday that Milwaukee can offer it’s residents some of those things. However, I must say that it’s probably easier offering those sorts of things since their per capita income is some 40% higher in Portland than in Milwaukee. Also, I’m not quite sure on the point you’re trying to make with population density. It must drop off pretty quick and hard in Portland because Milwaukee is some 2,000/sq. mi. more dense than Portland on average. However, Portland must be one of the smallest metro areas in the U.S. with light rail, and I think that would be a smart page to look over in their playbook.
