Okay – Kyle Feerick isn’t actually a mortician. But he IS the fifth generation of the Feerick family to work at the family business – the Feerick Funeral Home.

And he’s most certainly a musician – a charismatic singer/songwriter who’s performed and collaborated with musicians from all walks of the Milwaukee scene, from members of One Drum and De La Buena to John Sparrow of The Horns of Dilemma of The Violent Femmes.

Mark Metcalf talks to Kyle about growing up in the funeral business, whether or not his life is like Six Feet Under (as it turns out, there are some eerie parallels) and what it takes to transition between “swinging the door” and cutting the track.
