We prop up a lot of records here on Muzzle of Bees. It’s understood that everything we laud we truly enjoy. That being said some records naturally rise to the top and become favorites. I first heard the songs that make up the new Megafaun album live, maybe 2-3 choice cuts. I remember thinking the band had really grown. Having been a fan of their last record, watching as they played those tracks out live, and now sitting with headphones on taking in Gather, Form & Fly on its release day is a band that is on the cusp of greatnesss.

If this is your first introduction to the band, there are more than enough resources to get you acquainted below including two MP3 downloads from the new album. Please support these guys by picking up the copy of Gather, Form & Fly this week (perhaps on vinyl).

Elsewhere: Justin Vernon of Bon Iver states the new album “broke me down in tears” and “unveils new layers in itself and it is literally rearranging how I perceive the power of music.”
